Though we’re mixing up the accommodation on our trip between budget hotels, hostels and camping, there are also the very occasional splurges on super-nice, luxury hotels.

Just to be clear on definitions, we’re classing a luxury hotel as a place that has some amazing wow factor, whether it be views, location, décor, service etc. Being a luxury hotel isn’t really just about price: Though most luxury hotels are not cheap, some are surprisingly reasonably priced, whilst many high priced hotels aren’t luxury – simply expensive bed factories.
